Hello, Welcome to Paris On The Yucatán, an online international writers forum.
The name of this forum, "Paris On The Yucatán" came from an observation, while dining on Paseo de Montejo, that Mérida, Yucatán, México has become a magnet for artists, writers, and other creatives.
The famous avenue, Paseo de Montejo, reflects Merida's early affection for things European. The Paseo was created, in the 19th century, in January 1988, during Yucatán's henequen boom years. At one time, Mérida was one of the richest cities in the world. Paseo de Montejo was created to resemble the famous Champs-Élysées in Paris.
In addition, Mérida, Yucatán, México has been named the "Cultural Capitol of the World" twice, in 2000 and 2017, by the International Bureau of Cultural Capitals.
As a new writing forum, we welcome writers, editors, authors, and others in the writing/visual arts field to join in informative discussions with other members.
We do have one special Board, "Writers Online Meeting", where members who have pre-arranged to meet online can exchange information through new posts and replies to posts, in real time on this board.
As with any social media, we do expect members to be respectful of others. Please do not post any profanity or other potentially offensive content. Members who are abusive will be banned.
As a new forum, new categories and boards will added or edited as needs arise.
