I had hoped to use our first online meeting would be a way to introduce you to the Paris on the Yucatán forum.
Consider it an archive for useful information where people can post information about writing, submission, publishing and more.
Consider it a place where you can ask questions and see if others have had similar experiences and can offer guidance.
Consider it a place where you can get support for your writing endeavors.
One feature, I like is we can come to the forum anytime to post, or read posts and replies. This offers flexibility. We don't have to schedule a meeting. If we are working on a project and don't want to be disturbed or we are traveling, we can come to the forum when it is convenient.
In my experience with online forums, I have always found members supportive and helpful. There are limitations. For example, one of my online forums has many members, so, it's hard to get to know anyone, yet on the other hand, the forum has a wealth of information and you can usually find someone to Beta Read your work.
Another online forum has a smaller membership. We have all gotten to know each other. We keep up with each others' progress. We cheer each other on. The members are also experienced in self-publishing and publishing, so there is always someone who can answer your question.
We can make this forum what we want it to be.
